What is an EICR ?
Electrical Installation Condition Report Explained.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report – or EICR for short – is a health check for the electrics in your home or property. It makes sure your wiring, sockets, lights, fuse board and other fixed electrical parts are safe to use and not at risk of causing shocks or fires.
I will carefully test and inspect your system, looking for any damage, wear and tear, or anything that no longer meets today’s safety standards.
When do you need one?
Homeowners – It’s a good idea to have an EICR every 10 years, or sooner if your home is older or you’ve noticed issues.
Landlords – By law, rental properties in England must have an EICR at least every 5 years, and tenants should be given a copy.
Businesses – Workplaces and commercial buildings should also be checked regularly (usually every 5 years) to stay safe and meet regulations.
If the report finds anything that needs attention, it will be clearly explained, along with the steps needed to put it right.
